Jersey Channel Islands law enforcement officials have been provided with the results of our investigation into the pillage of gold from the Democratic Republic of Congo by the firm, Hussar Limited, based in St. Helier. Likewise, the Jersey Channel Islands Financial Services Commission has been notified of potential regulatory violations by Hussar Limited’s trust management services firm.
The trail began with extensive investigations by the United Nations Group of Experts on the Democratic Republic of the Congo (UNGE), which looked at UN sanctions violations by Hussar Limited and its representatives.
Following her tenure with the UNGE, Kathi Lynn Austin continued the investigation into the criminal liability of Hussar Limited for the war crime of pillage.
The results of these investigations have been shared with Jersey Channel Islands law enforcement authorities.
